This is a fantastic new Accounts Assistant role for anyone looking to gain broad experience across accounts and tax preparation, while also developing strong client relationships. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with some of the most well thought of and experienced seniors and managers to build your technical skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and tax returns for a varied client base.
- Assist with VAT returns and management accounts.
- Support bookkeeping duties, ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant.
- Liaise directly with clients, answering queries and helping to resolve any issues.
- Work closely with senior accountants, supporting them on client advisory work.
What the client is looking for:
- Ideally 1-2 years' experience working in a practice environment.
- Would consider candidates from industry, but you must be keen to progress your career in practice and enjoy working with local clients.
- Ideally prior experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software.
- Fantastic communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
