NXTGEN is delighted to be partnering with a growing and modern accountancy firm in Norwich, where I've had the pleasure of supporting team growth over the past five years, to recruit a Payroll Administrator. Due to continued expansion and increasing demand for their payroll services, the firm is creating this newly designed role, which also offers the opportunity to get involved in bookkeeping duties, too. As the new Payroll Administrator, you'll receive a role that is tailored to your skills and ambitions, providing unlimited support and progression for the right person.
As a Payroll Administrator, you'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients, from SMEs to larger businesses, gaining exposure to different industries and payroll complexities. No two days will be the same, and you'll have the chance to build strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor for their payroll and finance needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and supportive firm that truly values its people. They offer a collaborative and flexible working environment, where employees are encouraged to develop and take on new challenges. Whether you're looking to enhance your payroll expertise or broaden your experience into bookkeeping and wider finance functions, you'll receive full training and career development tailored to your goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Handling payroll queries and providing expert advice on PAYE, pensions, and statutory deductions
- Supporting with bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations and transaction processing
- Assisting with VAT returns and management accounts preparation
- Building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service
- Working closely with the wider team to continuously improve processes and efficiencies
What They're Looking For:
- Experience in payroll processing, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
- Knowledge of payroll software such as Sage Payroll or Xero Payroll
- A keen interest in broadening your skill set into bookkeeping and wider finance functions (but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, keen to develop and grow within the firm
If you're looking for a Payroll Administrator role that offers variety, career progression, and the chance to shape your own development, this could be the perfect opportunity. Please get in touch with Annie to discuss this further.
